Botanical Strategies for Histamine Intolerance: Unraveling Complex Health Symptoms with Caty Crabb

  • PO BOX 15 McArthur, Ohio, 45651 (map)

Many confusing, chronic health issues have a common and little-known link. Histamine intolerance is a crucial piece of the puzzle in understanding and addressing numerous mystery illnesses. Seemingly random food sensitivities, headaches, and inflammation are just a few of the presentations of this surprisingly common condition.

In my practice I have had a lot of success alleviating these issues using simple, effective tools. Overcoming the symptoms of histamine intolerance doesn’t have to involve a highly restrictive diet. This class will give you an understanding of what happens when your body can’t break down histamine, common symptoms, and why those symptoms can seem so unpredictable. We will clarify how the histamine process in this context differs from that of the allergic process.

I’m excited to share with you the clear botanical strategies for effectively managing these varied complaints. Join me to skill-up on this little understood and useful topic.

Caty Crabb is a practicing herbalist, with 20 years of clinical experience. She is also the director of the Aralia School of Herbal Medicine, an online school and community offering in-depth, practical herb knowledge and clinical skills to intermediate and advanced herb students.

Complex, chronic illness has been a focus of Caty’s practice. Her ethics are grounded in accessibility with a client centered, harm reduction approach to healthcare. Before starting her own practice, she studied with Michael Moore of the Southwest School of Botanical Medicine, and Adam Seller of the Pacific School of Herbal Medicine. Through these teachers and others, Caty learned a tradition of herbalism that is rooted in a rich understanding of constitutional physiology, social ecology, and cultural awareness.

Caty has been growing, wildcrafting, and making medicine from plants since 1994, and never plans to stop.
