Christmas Fern Spiral

16.00

Limited print. 5 x 5 matted photograph, numbered signed by Erika Galentin. Acid free matting. Also comes with the following description:

One of areas I was exploring, like many in the now forested hills and hollers of SE Ohio, had a long history of deep coal mining. The rich bottomland is pockmarked with mine subsidences but also now richly covered with trilliums, woodland phlox, wild ginger, black and blue cohosh. It is incredible to me how life comes full circle (or better yet, full spiral)...

...and how after working through its wounds, a butchered landscape heals. There is so much hope to be found in this history.

The unfurling of Christmas fern (Polystichum acrostichoides).
