FREE WEBINAR: Developing Herbal Knowledge through Your Senses

  • 7247 N. Coolville Ridge Rd. Athens, OH, 45701 (map)

Join herbalists Erika Galentin & Brooke Sackenheim of Sovereignty Herbs, for this FREE webinar about how we can use our senses of sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing to develop our herbal knowledge and why students of herbalism should feel empowered by their direct experiences with herbs rather than doubtful of them. Drawing on concepts from phenomenology and Goethean Science, Erika and Brooke will be guiding students on how to move past rote memorization of facts and build direct relationships with the plants themselves through sensorial observation and ‘living thinking’.

Brooke and Erika will also be sharing about the sensorial and experiential techniques taught in their herbal programs, including the very new ‘Herbal Sensorium Membership’ as well their beloved ‘Planta Dyadica’ - two programs designed to uniquely support you on your journey to knowledge about medicinal plants.

Participants receive a special discount towards Planta Dyadica as well as an opportunity to claim an Herbal Sensorium membership bonus. This webinar will also provide potential Planta Dyadica students and Herbal Sensorium members with the opportunity to ask questions about these programs.

Some of the topics covered in this webinar include:
• What are Phenomenology and Goethean Science and how are they relevant to learning about medicinal herbs.
• A few simple techniques for starting to hone your herbal senses.
• How you can apply what you perceive through your senses to building your knowledge about medicinal herbs.
• The importance of going beyond rote memorization when learning about herbs.
• What we mean by ‘Planta Dyadica’ and why this is important.
• Why we only study one herb per month.
• What is included each month in the discovery boxes for each program.
• The time commitment for each program.
• What type of exercises and assignments accompany class time.
• What the Planta Dyadica journal is all about and what we mean by the finished ‘community zine’.
